About Me
Tanja
As a multidisciplinary creative who finds joy in exploration, my process begins with curiosity and a desire to experiment. First I figure out which materials feel right for each project. Whether it’s clay, yarn, paint, wood or even resin, I let each medium shape the story I want to tell.
I officially founded Tanja’s House in November 2025, but my journey started much earlier. Throughout my studies, I’ve been steadily building my portfolio and shaping the vision for my brand.
My inspiration comes from my roots. I grew up in a Chinese-Malaysian household where my parents ran their own Chinese-Surinamese restaurant. Watching them work tirelessly every day taught me the true meaning of strength and dedication. When they retired, I felt a strong desire to continue their legacy , not through cooking (at least not yet!), but by celebrating the things that supported their craft: plates, bowls, cups and all the little details that bring people together around food.
For now, I’m following my passion and reminding myself every day to work hard, provide for my family and keep my parents’ spirit alive through everything I create <3
